Through meetings with the Azcapotzalco borough, Quiero Casa and the Fundación Construye Bienestar were able to intervene in Azkatl Park, which was located in a high risk zone due to harmful fauna and its conditions.
Quiero Casa and Fundación Construye Bienestar did an intervention project, which included the rehabilitation of playgrounds, fields, as well as cleaning of the zone; including the participation of the community, which expressed the needs of the zone, requesting some changes to the original project that were taken into account, such as the following:
Finally, Azkatl park is the result of the response by the community, as well as by the authorities, where efforts were put together to improve the space, as well as to generate a sense of belonging for it.
The project concluded satisfactorily on June 21, 2019, when the inauguration was carried out, where the borough president Vidal Llerenas was present, along with people from the borough and the community, participating in various activities that took place in the park, such as the Taekwondo demonstration, Zumba class, science-promotion activities, and morning sports. This is how, with the participation of all those involved in the event, it was able to finish with spending time with family, sharing food, and recreational activities.
The participation of all actors involved in the project is thanked, since, because of the teamwork, a more inhabitable space was created for the community and the development of its recreational activities.
